About

A home for the voices shaping potatoes.

potatoes.me covers the potato industry two ways: a handpicked group of people who lead in some corner of the industry, each with a permanent page of their own for their own writing — and independent analysis of industry news, written by us, for and about people across the sector whether or not they have a page here.

A page for people who lead

The potato industry is vast, international, and quietly fragmented. The people who move it forward — growers, breeders, processors, traders, scientists and the organisations that represent them — rarely have a single, credible place to publish and be found. Social feeds bury their work in days. potatoes.me exists to fix that: each leader gets their own branded page, and shares their work directly, under their own name.

How it works

Getting a page is by invitation. We add voices we believe the industry should hear, across the whole value chain — from the field to the freezer aisle, from the laboratory to the trading desk. It’s a selection, not a sign-up. A leader’s profile — photo, biography, attributed quotes — is only published once they have explicitly reviewed and approved it. Being named in one of our industry-analysis articles doesn’t give someone a page here.

If you lead in the potato world, or know someone who does, you can nominate a leader.

What leaders publish

Leaders write about what they know — variety selection, sourcing, storage, trade, policy, the field-level decisions that shape a season. The views expressed by each leader are their own. potatoes.me is the platform that hosts them, not the author of them.

Independent analysis

Alongside our leaders’ own writing, we publish staff-produced analysis of industry news and events, drawing on public sources with full attribution. These pieces may name people who don’t have — and may never have — a page here. Naming someone in this context never creates a profile, a photo, or a quote attributed to them, and never implies their endorsement. If our coverage of someone’s work leads us to think they belong on the site, we reach out with the piece itself and a draft profile for them to review, correct, and approve — never a request to write something from scratch.
