Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how potatoes.me (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use our website, including the individual leader pages hosted here.
Information we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, primarily through:
- Our contact and nomination forms — your name, email address, and the content of your message or nomination.
- Bio and profile details submitted by leaders when they join potatoes.me — name, role, organization, country, photo, biography, current engagements, and public professional links (LinkedIn, website).
We do not use advertising trackers, and we aim to keep cookie use to the minimum required for the site to function.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate analytics service, to understand page views and traffic patterns. It does not use cookies or track individuals across sites.
We also use Google Analytics 4 for more detailed usage analysis. GA4 uses cookies and is off by default— it only loads if you actively grant analytics consent in the cookie banner, per Google’s Consent Mode v2. You can change or withdraw this consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use it
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, to consider nominations, to build and maintain leader profiles (with consent — see below), and to operate and improve the network. We do not sell your personal information.
Leader profiles and consent
Membership is by invitation. A prospective leader’s profile — including their photo, biography, and Person structured data — is only published once they have explicitly consented. If a leader declines or withdraws, their profile is never published (or is removed) and we do not re-approach them about the same content.
Some articles on the site discuss industry news or events and may name or quote people who are not (or not yet) leaders on potatoes.me, with attribution to the original source, in the ordinary course of editorial reporting. Naming someone in this context does not create a public profile, photograph, or Person structured-data entry for them.
Where your information is processed
Form submissions and leader/profile data are processed and stored using third-party service providers, including Supabase (database and file storage) and Resend (transactional email). These providers process data on our behalf and may store it in other countries. We take reasonable steps to work with providers that handle data responsibly.
Embedded content
Some pages may include embedded media (such as video or audio players). Where we use embeds, we prefer privacy-respecting modes. Embedded providers may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, email hello@potatoes.me.
Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
